The Japanese House 3/14/17
On March 14, 2017 I made my way to Dallas and FINALLY got to see The Japanese House live.
For the sake of total transparency ( I say that way too much.... maybe I'm just a liar..... *insert identity crisis*) I have seen The Japanese House once before when she opened for The 1975 in Austin last year, HOWEVER, at the time, I fully did not appreciate her so I let the opportunity slip and made it my mission to get out and see her on her headlining tour.
Allow me to sum it up in one word: Breathtaking.
The Japanese House live show is devoid of anything flashy. Amber Bain (TJH) kept it simple, not needing an elaborate light show or a crazy costume to get the full attention of the audience. Bain made everyone feel right at home with her quirky remarks and crowd interaction between songs, even taking the time to console a crying fan and check back on her a few songs later.
With dreamy synth vocals only intensified by the close confines of the venue and a production that was so simple, but powerful nonetheless, the talent that The Japanese House has was undeniable.
This is only the beginning for The Japanese House, and I'm glad I got to (in a small way) be a part of it.
