Charlie Hickey at Emo’s

I recently got the opportunity to see Charlie Hickey opening for Wolf Alice at Emo’s and let me tell you, this guy is about to be HUGE.

I first saw Charlie Hickey at this year’s SXSW and immediately was hooked. His sound is so unique and he is so vulnerable and endearing that you can’t help but love him. After his performance at the Saddest Factory showcase this year, I was more than excited to see him again at Emo’s.

As a performer, Charlie has a quiet strength, he is shy but so warm and inviting, I was hanging on to every word of each song. My favorite song of the set was Seeing Things, I have added it to every playlist and it’s quickly become a staple. Even with a few technical hiccups, Charlie’s set was everything I wanted and more and I was sad when it ended.

One thing I know for sure is that I will be catching Charlie the next time he’s in Austin.
